  1. Munich was the West buying time to rearm. USSR and Germany began arming themselves earlier and were far better armed than the Western powers in 1938 (on the ground and in the air). Had the Red Army been allowed by the West to go through Poland to intervene to save Czechoslovakia they would have taken over Poland.
