The project is neat for being something made for fun, but, since he was at it, it's weird that he simply didn't rotate the M14 gas system 180° so to have the gas piston at hour 12. That way he could have mantained the entire AR15 lower as it was.

@jic1 Yeah, but, in any case, it seems that it would have been easier to simply assemble the gas piston of the M14 upside-down, and retain the AR15 trigger group and handle in their position, than link the AR15 trigger group 90° with the actual trigger. It's like the designer purposedly wanted to do it strange. OR he absolutely wanted the rifle to eject from the bottom for some reason.

@joshualance6005 the M14 gas system is short stroke.
