There was a 30 rounds version that was loaded with a single, very long, stripper clip (is on the wikipedia page). There's also a picture of one with detachable magazine. (you can google: Getty images cei rigotti ).

@Getpojke If you mind that still in the '50s with the M14 and the FAL, the soldiers were supposed to carry part of the ammo in stripper clips, and load the 20 round magazine with two 10 round ones, even the 30 rounds stripper clip of the Cei Rigotti was VERY modern for 1900 (the year that picture was taken), not to say of the detachable magazines in 1896 (the year of the other picture).

The Schmit-Rubin was clearly the inspiration. However is peculiar the choice of a short stroke gas piston.
