  1. It doesn't seem there is some mechanism that unlocks the lever from the slide when the shooter is pulling the slide, so it seems that the breech is not locked and can be open by recoil alone. All the lever does is to add some mechanical disadvantage to the linear recoil, so this is a delayed blowback action.
