  2. alan bodifa Yeah for sure, the Russians sure do know how to make do, what puzzles me is why they are not using their Laser guided bombs in Syria, its very very odd. It may be a stockpile level issue or a lack of designation I do not know but cluster bombs and Fragmentation bombs, dumb bombs  aren't going to win an asymmetric war these days. ISIS and the rebels know the Russian sortie pattern by now, they know when raids are incoming, so they just dig in, wait for the booms then come up for air because to be honest, accuracy isn't great with dumb weapons, a near miss inst going to collapse a bunker with a 500 lb`er.

I have a pal who was an aircraft  maintainer in the RAF, we were watching this report together and he said the equipment the Russian maintainers were using seems very very old, so the SU-34s etc seem the main beneficiary of upgrades but it doesnt seem to have been done throughout every section of the airforce?

  4. alan bodifa MI6 have probably recruited a few journalists in their time, the same as any national intelligence  org does, FSB, MOSSAD, etc,  but even if he has been they can see much more on satellites, comms intercepts by GCHQ and ELINT gathering that any well known journo can glean, relax brother, this was just a basic story.
