I don`t follow your logic, the UK has no reason to get involved, Japan is not a NATO country and we have no defence agreements with Japan, also, what can the UK do against North Korea? We wont even equip our own military. Not much.

Oh i think I do pal, i was in it for 22 years. I will say again, we dont have a mutual defence agreement with the Japanese , the US does not need our aid to fight anybody , we would be a hindrance to the Americans because they would have to provide force protection for us, because we haven't bothered to pay for that ourselves. What do we have to provide a UK expeditionary force protection against short ranged ballistic missiles for example? That`s right, sod all at the moment. Don`t say the Type 45 destroyer, its not there yet and wont be unless it can shoot Aster 30 NT which we would have to fund, and replace the VLS`s on our 6 DDGs. The UK does not have ANY ballistic missile defences at all, the ones owned by Japan have to be in range of the threat or they are useless.

Secondly, look at the size of our Army, what could we send and whom are we going to fight?? If we did end up in a ridiculous WWIII threatening fur ball with North Korea, the most we would send is a couple of A Boats, all we could spare and maybe a flight of 6 Typhoons from the RAF.

Cheesy, Parliament has not said in what capacity the UK would get involved nor has our government. "Involved" could simply mean sending a handful of military advisors to South Korea.

Japan couldn't shoot it down for practical / technical reasons I assume. I think the Israeli`s would have had a go at it but then their BMD is much more comprehensive given the size of the country.
