  1. I think the view is slightly unrealistic as a barometer for the whole Russian military. I have the feeling Putin has preserved his best formations and just threw a conscript Army into Ukraine. His reserve forces might have the better regiments / brigades.

  4.  @hazeltech6007  without knowing unit designations it’s hard to tell. Their problems seem to be logistics and comms. Coordinating a large combined arms invasion with no recent experience is proving to be problematic. I’m sure they will learn.

  6.  @hazeltech6007  SOF aside - they will always be involved in any campaign - we’ve seen reports of comms equipment not working and command losing contact with battalion sized units.

  7.  @hazeltech6007  yes, and pulling some units from the southern and eastern Russian military districts, they are also putting Syrian campaign commanders into the field - and losing those guys. Generals at the front line tells us they ain’t doing so well.

  9.  @chrisbrent7487  what I find interesting is almost every one of the captured conscripts tells the same story, they were told it was an exercise. I don’t believe so many people are that dumb.

  10.  @chrisbrent7487  yes they’ve lost some Syria campaign veterans and senior commanders but they have a lot of senior commanders they can throw into the meat grinder. I don’t think Putin cares one bit about the deaths of those guys or his conscripts.

  12.  @chrisbrent7487  Thats pretty fair assumption I would agree, I also imagine the FSO did not like the FSB assessments prior to the war so were kept out of the loop for the go command date.
