Patriot will be able to intercept SRBMs.

range and capability, AMRAAM is not going to be able to shoot down an SRBM.

Do we know what missiles they are getting which versions? PAC-2 GEM , PAC-3 etc? I dont think that was specified.
1
@markgreen4612 Depends, they wont likely be getting PAC-3 MSE with RIG for example.

@jshike92 It is plausible Ukrainian SAM troops have been training on Patriot for a while. That would fit in with every other weapon donation timeframe / announcement.

THEY SUCK PUPPETSKEYS MEAT that is a lie, the Saudis have had great success with their MM-104s.Granted we have seen a few fails but that is the same with every other SAM system.

@bongo6652 My thoughts too, it woul fit with every single system announcement so far.

@Slavic_Goblin I doubt there is much manouvre in the terminal stage.

@jesselejarzar5114 Fuzing issues were fixed with later versions I believe and they are much faster now.

@Slavic_Goblin Sorry I was a little vague, the manouver phase is likely to be in the cruise phase not descent when it will coast unpowered and it will be decelerating at that point. A difficult target but not insurmountable assuming an end to end track.

@Slavic_Goblin As long as defences have solid end to end tracking, and it`s not going to be hard to track in the case of Kinzhal, especially considering the lauch platform - Mig-31 -there are interceptors with the capability to intercept them. Even better if those same interceptors are positioned close to the target. Sadly that limits targets that can be defended to a few high value ones. I am not saying it would be easy but it`s not impossible.

@Slavic_Goblin ABM is not easy but a slower interceptor can take out a faster target if the launcher is in the right position. It just wont be doing a tail chase. And I have to reiterate, I dont see how that weapon will be doing any jinking once it has started its dive phase - not if it wants to actually hit something, unpowered it will have very little cross range capability.

@Slavic_Goblin my thoughts on this weapon are moderated by the weapon it is modelled on - the standard Iksandr. It has the same body and is not a clean sheet design. It will likely share similar components other than a higher thrust motor and additional hardening etc. The small control surfaces look the same and there is no terminal seeker. After launch it follows a roughly ballistic profile so half of its flight path will be the dive phase, launched at range that phase would be significant in time and distance. It’s guidance method dictates its cross range capability, I’m not seeing how INS / GPS - unpowered dive and small control surfaces even if coupled with defensive aids like ESM etc would give it huge manoeuvre capability. I think it’s greatest asset is air launch - high speed and guidance nobody can jam - coupled with a nuclear warhead. As a conventional weapon used against well defended fixed targets it looks a good weapon but I’d be more worried if there was a ground launched version which means pop up attacks.

It will likely be used for very specific targets like Iranina SRBMs rather than wasted on drones.
