@michaelrch Are you sure about that?. When Labour were last in power the Personal Allowance (money allowed to earn before paying tax) was a pathetic £6,475. At present the Personal Allowance under the Conservatives is £12,570.

@gaz9957 Where are you living?, my partner earns £22,767 working full time at our local Council and there are Surveyor's at the same Council that earn nowhere near £50,000.

@ozzie2612 Yes, but Rishi has just increased the benefit cap from £23,000 to £25,323 for people living in London and from £20,000 to £22,020 for people living outside London.
