  1. EVs on average are considerably dirtier that’s ICE vehicles. Petroleum-based vehicles utilize ICE (Internal Combustion Engine). EVs should be considered as utilizing ECE (External Combustion Engine) because the combustion is still happening, it’s just happening before it reaches the vehicle. EVs have a much larger carbon footprint than traditional ICE vehicles in all parts of the world, except a few places with a high percentage of green energy generation. China has filthy coal-fired power generation plants and commission a new one every week on average. This combined with EVs much greater material and energy cost to build is what results in a much larger carbon footprint.

  2.  @zorkmid1083  I know they can be charged by clean sources, but very few are. China will have the most ECE soon and the will all be charged by inefficient coal generators.
