  2. I totally agree. I’ve been to VN about 50 times and managed expats and our local team in country. The Vietnamese have worked diligently to foster a closer relationship with the US for the last 40 years. They will be cordial to China and Russia, but they are very wary of China and their intentions and that Russia has very little to over in the long run. They also know that the US conflict was a blip (an a mistake) that will never be repeated.

  3. You clearly have very little understanding of the situation. The relationship is cordial and trade takes place, but there is no trust of China by the Vietnamese people or the government.

  4. Well, we can agree to disagree on this. I’ve spent a couple of hundred in VN and conducted several million USD in business with state-owned entities over the last 20 years and my view is that there is plenty of commerce between VN and China but very little trust. We’ll see what the future brings. All the best
