@ghostpiratelechuck2259 As someone in the Energy business, the fluff about not using the Petrodollar is just that, fluff. The US could and would shut down all protection for the ships containing petroleum purchased without petrodollars which would increase their insurance by a factor of 10 to 20, and it only gets worse from there.

@johanstinson yes, it is exactly fluff. It may not appear to those that don’t understand the meek efforts underway or the hooks the US has into every economy, but for those that do know, this is not a serious risk.

@johnstrauch8949 Countries aren’t going to bet their existence on digital currencies. And politicians aren’t going to be their careers, their lives, and the lives of their families on digital currencies

@michaelbarnes736 You don’t get it. If the US debt was all that is at risk, this would have happened 30 years ago, They do care about the US Navy not protecting their vessels. If the US stops, their insurance premiums increase by 20x overnight. If China tries to circumvent the Petrodollar, the US won’t protect those shipments, their inbound shipments of food and outbound shipment of products they sell to the world. And that is just a passive response. If the US actively needs to shut this down, which they won’t, the US can easily cut China off from world and China industrial output drops to zero and starves to death in 3-6 months,
