  1. Yea, I don’t think he was referring to a military quest for the reasons you mentioned, but also because the economic upside of cooperation is huge, and Türkie is going to need their military to the south at some point.

  2. Peter is looking further down the road at possibilities. The EU is weak and getting weaker and NATO is the a function of US funding which is dropping. NATO was formed to provide a united front against Russia which not required as it once was. Russia is not an economic power and is barely a military power. Things are going to get ugly in the region within the next 10 years.

  3. You’re right about Turkey’s economy, but this is a short YT vid, not a college course. Also PZ typically focuses on geopolitics and upcoming economic events, not the current state of an economy.
