@ernestmac13 First of all the recession was caused by a Democratic Congress and in particular Barney Frank who chaired FanneMae and FreddyMac and assured The Americans that the housing market stable despite the loose lending terms. He did this for years prior to the crash and continue to do so right up to the crash. Second, the recovery should have been V-shaped given the money that was thrown at the problem. Instead it was L-shaped and the slowest recovery in the history of the US.
