Zeihan on Geopolitics

Comments by "Echo Sierra" (@SignalCorps1) on "Election Postmortem... || Peter Zeihan" video.
Near-term political results are way outside Peter’s wheelhouse. He is much better on long-term trends like international geopolitics, demographic shifts, international commerce and trade, natural resource requirements, etc. If we watch Peter for short term outcomes, we’re all wasting our time.

@killahnan regardless of what happens to Trump‘s mind over the next four years, he is clearly much sharper than Biden was when he began his campaign in 2019. if you don’t see this, then we’ll have to agree to disagree.

@Leftatalbuquerque we didn’t miss anything. We won the electoral college, the popular vote, the house, the senate and grew our base in every demographic and in every state. So if any one needs to reflect on what they missed, grab a mirror

@dixonhill1108 I disagree. As an Expat that lived in Asia for 15 years, China is in very bad shape. Whether or not it happens in the timeframe that Peter is proclaiming, I don’t know, but he’s absolutely directionally correct.

@Leftatalbuquerque correct. That’s the wokeness we’re referring to. Enjoy the next four years

@vhscoverstory5671 Gaza had very little to do with it

@jlvandat69 the reason it was not a big issue is because he was referring to a small minority of migrants that had recently been in the news for doing exactly this. no one thought that Trump was implying that household pets are a staple of migrant’s diets. Context matters. The reason Republicans would have jumped on this (just like the Democrats did ) had Harris said the same thing is because Republicans know that Democrats are way too sensitive when it comes to anybody that’s not white. Democrats have dug their own grave in this area.

@jlvandat69 I’ll bet you 1000 to 1 odds he doesn’t see the inside of a cell. I won’t bet you that he finishes his term since he’s already had two assassination attempts on his life and now that he’s trying to tear down the establishment there’s a good chance. The establishment will try again.

@1donjuego including you, right? Or are you the global oracle of truth?

@eddyr3691 Trafalgar got it right five times ‘16, ‘18, ‘20, ‘22, & ‘24 within the margin for error, but I generally agree with your comment about the citizenry.

I love Peter, but this is definitely a blind spot for him. The fact that he brings cognition up wrt Trump is nothing short of laughable given that he’s said nothing about Biden in this area. Whatever happens to Trump’s mind over the next four years, he is clearly much sharper than Biden was in 2019 when he began his campaign.

@ I agree with that 100%

@dixonhill1108 interesting points. So you believe there will be a reversal in the trend of ever increasing screen times? Personally, I don’t see it as long as we are so comfortable in life, but I truly hope you are correct. I’m a big believer in the phrase, ‘Bad times create strong men, strong men bring good times, good times creates weak men, weak men bring bad times’. We are definitely in the ‘good times creates weak men’ part of the cycle, so you might just be right.

@u2beuser714 I get it, but apparently you don’t. It’s not about this country or that country, it’s about long term vs short term trends. Besides, if you think he’s wrong on everything, why are you here watching videos, reading through comments and making snarky responses? Just asking
