@rafewheadon1963 Basically, you are right in your assessment of Putin's regime. But never forget that it was the short-sighted impudent western policy in tenth decade of XX cent. which triggered and revived nationalistic and imperial ferment within Russian society. It was done inspite of all warnings. Western analysts likely got too self-confident after USSR had dissociated and forgot that democracy and rule of law traditionally had too little supporters in Russia, so Putin emerged and now it is too late. True fascism is probable after him.
Concerning this funny Englishman, he indeed looks pretty suspiciously sometimes. But lot of western people look naive particularly when visiting Russia. And he travelled across the world before, visiting not Russia only. Besides of that, some people getting into his frame accidentally in the very beginnig of this video look like undercover agents of FSB awaiting just for him. On min. 0:25 Asiatic or Caucasian man is likely watching him in his smartphone (the image is likely conveyed somehow to the smartphone from CCTV cameras so that the agent doesn't need to stare at a person under surveillance directly). And on min. 0:37 and then 0:54 idle Russian man, he is visible already on min. 0:01. There are more idle healthy males on the scene, but these the two are mostly typical (I claim it because am myself Russian political dissident in Vilnius, Lithuania). Of course, the very fact of overt surveillance does not provide sufficient ground for conclusion about this Englishman, it may have various purposes as to him. But it is noticeable.
