  2. I guess it does change the direction of rotation on the tread but yeah, I've always replaced trailer tires for age, never had a wear problem.

  3. Some caveats to the "max" pressure bit. Inflate all your car tires to max sidewall and see how crappy it rides. I was taught to chalk across the tread and experiment to find the pressure the chalk wears evenly uniform across the tread. That is the correct pressure for that load. Of course no one will do that, especially for a utility trailer with varying loads. But utility trailers "tend" to be used infrequently and locally. It is worth while for a RV travel trailer or a boat trailer where the load does not change much and you are traveling distance at speed. You only have to do it once and you know what it is for that setup. Years ago my pop-up ate tires. Switched to radials and never had another problem
