  1. The problem I see with Locals is membership-for-a-price. I see this as an issue for the internet as a whole. Every site is either asking (and counting on) patrons, asking for donations, moving or already behind a paywall. People simply don't have the money to contribute to all these different sites to obtain nuances on the news and their own favorite channels. Meanwhile, advertising is broken. It didn't work before the internet, and it is not working now despite snooping algorithms. The algorithms pick out keywords in your emails, commentary or visits and matches them to products, invariably totally off the mark. The world is waiting for tech innovators who can sort out this dilemma and streamline membership costs in an affordable way.
