  3. When I was a kid during the cold war I remember hearing about ordinary people building bomb shelters their back yard. I remember a neighbor showing me the shelter he was building. I guess people lost interest when it became evident only an irrational government would launch nuclear weapons.

  14. Given the costs of accommodating Ukrainian refugees we can temporarily overlook problematic behavior. The Polish people have shown such kindness and compassion to Ukrainians they can be forgiven past transgressions. At least for now.

  48. It ain't over till it's over. Ukraine is training more troops, getting more weapons, slowly becoming more effective. It will take time to overcome the advantage Putin's army has over Ukraine but it will happen. Paid Putin trolls cannot stop it.
