The ancient Egyptians, not the ones you see today left drawings of themselves on walls and in art and they depicted themselves as having heavy concentrations of melanin (dark skin). Now bring in Moses who was chosen by God to bring his people out of Egyptian bondage. As a child Moses was raised by Pharaoh's daughter in his palace, as her biological son and his grand-son and Pharaoh never asked single question about the child's appearance because the child looked just like an Egyptian.
