@ShiroKage009 That coin flip had survived in a far more stable state than Germany's system for longer than it even existed. So I wouldn't be so cocky, tbh. There is still much to learn.

@ShiroKage009 That was the era, smart one. You're gonna have to cite countries in that era that did not do both (at least not treat other humans as property in their colonies) at the time period. Being a democracy doesn't preclude bad social behavior by modern standards, it doesn't automatically launch you into an uber progressive land. But the fact that a democracy existed for so long while maintaining democratic rules is a far better showing than Germany's, yes. Especially without causing one of the largest genocides in human history.

@ShiroKage009 What a weird take. The two party system CAN exist as you state...if it wasn't for the fact that people a part of that party can and have influenced it to shift politics. It's not a static thing; and in a way it involves more participation in politics than the Parliamentary system where party bosses have that kind of power and voters have no say in what politics the party has. Edit: As we speak, the Democrat and Republican Party have shifted ideologies multiple times, and are doing so today. From the Tea Party to Trumpist isolationism in the Pubs, to Al Gore environmentalism to more progressivist ideas in the Democrats. I never said anything about time of survival, I said time of democratic institutions remaining democratic in nature. The issue was more in allowing more participation from other ethnic groups and women more than the act of voting in representatives. Even if you combine all that, which is very much questionable since you'd be taking multiple policies from multiple eras in the US' history as one death toll. No, sorry, Germany's sole death toll under control of the Nazi's still eclipses it. Not even including its time as the German Empire. Or its colonies. Nice try, though.

Aidan Collins "Not being able to govern" is an excuse. The reason the majority can't pass new laws is because they refuse to comrpromise, due to the new stratified politics which makes any compromise into a defeat to ravenous media. Any political system with democratic principled would be facing that issue, FPTP not withstanding.
