  1. Employee numbers have been quoted between 10000 and 16000. Simplifying the numbers a little, if virgin is dead, based on 12000 employees at 1000 dollars per fortnight of jobseeker over a year that equals $300 million of pretty dead money. About a third of a billion. Maybe Australia should buy (steal) it whilst in administration. rebuild it and run it nationally, people keep working, Australia owns an airline, Alan Joyce crys a lot and if Qantas struggle fine, Australia's national airline would buy Qantas and grow as a business.

  3.  @blank.9301  sure why not, so could all of the owners, including the Australian based. . . but clearly they aren't going to. My comment was purely to illustrate to the people that think Branson owns it all.
