Churchill was undoubtedly the greatest man of the 20th century. The "war crimes" accusations are nothing more than revisionist nonsense - deliberately ignoring the actual facts in India to force some silly idea that he was responsible for famine, and assuming that modern technology like precision guided munitions were available in large numbers in WWII. Carpet bombing may be considered criminal NOW, but at the time it was a reasonable tactic to ensure the destruction of valid targets. If you don't want to suffer the effects of strategic bombing, try and avoid picking world wars. Yes, collateral damage is bad, but accomplishing strategic goals sometimes requires it. With aerial bombing essentially in its infancy in WWII, it was necessary to bomb an entire city to ensure the destruction of important military targets.

@Janus Q What? That's nonsense. He was a brilliant politician who recognized the danger that Hitler posed when nobody else did, and for a while was the only person willing to stand up to Hitler.
