An owner hires people/services, buys products. a SLAVE has a mentality that he must be protected by his owner in return for his work and good behavior. @tempemonkey You already own nothing, that's because you are a slave of the system, you pay taxes, you get paid in worthless fiat currency, you only have liabilities and no assets, your home is NOT an asset. If you have no income generating businesses or assets that work for you even when you are sleeping then you are a slave and you pay taxes.

@tempemonkey Slaves pay taxes on their income, just enough to make sure they never save any money to invest in their own ideas and businesses, just to make sure they live paycheck to paycheck, and while some of the taxes do go towards some services, most taxes are collected by the slave owners. You know which side of this equation you belong to, don't you?

You are not wrong though, you pay taxes, gov't gets bigger, gov't destroys economy, gov't does cause housing bubble through destruction of currency, setting low interest rates (0-1%), creating moral hazards (FDIC, Freddie/Fannie) and asset bubbles form, people buy into them, buy houses hoping that the houses will always go up in value, of-course the bubbles burst and houses values drop (in real terms)

Assets generate income, your house is only going to go down in real terms (in nominal values it may stay where it is, because Helicopter Ben is inflating like a pyromaniac during a light festival). You think you have an asset, while all you have is a liability in real terms, something that's going to eat the value of whatever money you put into it, not grow the value. The crazy bastards are those, who bought into the system hook, line and sinker.

@orangeblood307 No. If there were no income taxes and America only paid excise/vice/alcohol/import taxes, the way it did prior to 1913, the US gov't would have been much smaller and there wouldn't have been a deficit or a budget problem OR an economic devastation US is experiencing now. It's because gov't destroyed the free market and completely corrupted the system. It bails out and protects and stimulates the preferred monopolies and it crashes competition and dollar.
