  1. Free market requires protection of private property and your body is your primary private property, it's inherited by you from your parents, who produced it for you and it is yours. A gov't that doesn't recognise this fact is not a gov't that protects free market, free market requires complete protection of private property. This means no slavery. This means no income taxes. No forfeiture laws. No eminent domain laws, no EPA, no FEMA, no FDA, no SS, no Medicare, no FDIC, no minimum wage etc.

  2. Europe never had free market, free market is not something that exists without a way to protect the law, which requires that all people are equal before the law. Europe never had laws that ensured equal treatment for all people. One way or another Europe either had nobility or this nonsensical socialism, which always denied equal treatment under the law and created groups with entitlements and obligations. The most important law is protection of private property, Europe doesn't do that.

There were gradations of free markets, the markets were certainly MORE free when there was no: Fed, IRS, FDIC, SS, Medicare, minimum wage, labour laws, business regulations, EPA, FEMA, FBI, CIA, FDA, FHA, HUD, dep't of education, dep't of energy, dep't of agriculture, dep't of interior, etc. All of these have been created only since about 1913.

  4. The 'working people' would never have any jobs if it weren't for those, who saved and started businesses. For the most of human history, the 'working people' were property of somebody or they lived on subsistence, they farmed, fished, hunted, gathered for themselves. It was the industrialisation that actually created the middle class, and industrialisation only became reality under capitalism and free market.

A person was able to afford his own savings, his children's education, his own medical care (out of pocket) and there was health insurance for catastrophic events, which was invented by the free market since about 1850. Married women stayed home, didn't have to have jobs. Compare to today: one man can't afford to have a family, women have no choice but to work, what does that do for kids? Few people own their homes, few can afford health care out of pocket, education

  6. Yeah, all people be equal before law, then how do you justify progressive tax rate? Do you not see hypocrisy at all in the liberal, progressive, whatever socialist idea that those who have higher income must pay higher percentage of taxes, not just higher absolute number with the same percentage as everybody else? However Cenk is absolutely wrong, so are you. The top 5% of people pay much higher taxes than anybody in the lower brackets. As to inheritance, good for those who got it.
