Yeah I CANNOT stress enough how bad it is that a brand new A1C who had less than 2 years of service which is basically an E-3 rank had access to TOP SECRET military classification material and yet still refused to see the gravity of what he was in charge of safe guarding You better damn well know that policies on issue of security clearances are gonna be rewritten, as a result. And I gotta mention that even though the A1C failed, and yes ultimate responsibility is on his dumbass, any security incident of a TOP SECRET goes straight up to the BASE COMMANDER 😬 and in this case even higher And he also distributes punishments on down on the chain as well, meaning the Wing Commander, the Group Commander, and Squadron commander all will have on their records of failure to oversight and control of classified materials And for Squadron commanders in particular that can be potentially career ending, yeah they wouldn't be facing prison time but they might have to be forced to resign their commission or a receive a potential Letter of Admonishment And in the officer corps an LOA means you will almost NEVER be able to promote up again
