I praise Ukraine for doing what they can it is impressive the tenacity and their morale and willingness to fight has held up so great in a time of turmoil they are facing Unfortunately though Russia is much like China and that they don't have firepower but they make up for it with manpower and sheer numbers Russia is so authoritarian they will use living meat Shields to force the enemy to run out of ammunition and then send in the surviving force with 80 year old rifles to defeat the enemy I just don't think people realize how badly Russia will carelessly throw lives away to achieve battlefield success

Because militaries are expensive and most of Europe didn't like the concept of spending a lot of military development they would just outsource that to the United States so they could spend their money on social welfare programs and other projects And that arrangement was fine for a while the United States would eat the cost of what it takes to keep a world-class military running but it's starting to catch up and Europe doesn't like the fact that increasingly the United States has been saying hey pay your fair share Now there are exceptions to this, Nations outside of NATO at the time such as Finland and Sweden built up massive military and trained and drilled them endlessly Because they knew if the time came they would be standing alone

@gandydancer9710 I never said it was "massive" but I said was it was world class and it showed Finland was able to beat the United States in many joint drills and war games especially naval ones Infact Finland invented an entirely new methodology of hiding submarine acoustic signatures and was able to successfully get a simulated hit on an American aircraft carrier You don't see many other nations in Europe putting that much emphasis on Military research

@gandydancer9710 that's it exactly Finland and Sweden were the exceptions because they knew they'd be standing alone
