Gotta admit that part about the Russians loosing more soldiers in the first month of the Ukrainian war than they did of the 20 years of American involvement in Afghanistan was hilarious

@Remus-z6y I completely agree, even S. Korea has a minimum of 1 year if I remember correctly that's why even though I am rooting for Taiwan to win against the Chinese mainland I think they are going to have some issues Its very difficult for Taiwan to recruit career soldiers that go on to serve 10+ years

Actually only 20k casualties in a war that lasted 20 years is pretty good in terms of military performance The issue was the lack of political successes the US had to help win the hearts and minds of the Afghans to defend their nation with the US's assistance

@zjeee yes I already know that the Taiwanese straight only has calm seas a few months out of the year to launch an amphibious invasion I already know that an amphibious invasion is the one of the most logistical difficult invasions to pull off and the CCP and the pla have never practiced it But those aren't enough to deter the CCP in perpetuity and eventually they will bring military forces on the island the lack of combat readiness the Taiwanese government is not addressing is biting them in the foot
