But if you knew anything about Vietnamese history you would know that Vietnam has always seen China as the number one enemy Vietnam has been dominated by China for a collective period of 1000 years, the longest unbroken strain of Chinese dominance over Vietnam was a 500 year period And the last time China had domination over Vietnam was in the 1400s during the Ming dynasty So yeah Vietnam has never forgotten about that, it's why Vietnam doesn't see the Americans and their loss in the war on Vietnamese soil with any malice All that said Vietnam still is a communist nation with a 1 party government and their doing things very similar to what China does in their borders just they hate China so much that other nations have found that useful

They did almost immediately when the US pulled out, and they got slammed so badly! but China pulled a Russia Winter War out of their ass and sent literal wave after wave of men towards the Vietnamese forces and even though they vietnamese we're killing then by the thousands they just couldn't keep up The Vietnamese forces had to cede over some territory to the CCP
