  2.  @dragosstanciu9866  I don't mean to forcibly modernize the Romanian military. Or meet a useless 2% GDP metric. What I mean is to not abuse the security guarantee that NATO provides to it members. Turkey and it's government has long been utilizing its NATO membership to facilitate Turkish acts of aggression and fall back on its NATO membership as an excuse. The Turkish government restricts NATO forces to select bases only. They refused to schedule or participate in NATO member exercises. They are openly hostile to Greece which is a fellow NATO member. They have even Invaded and fought and still currently occupy sovereign territory belonging to Greece (Cyprus). This is the only known time 2 NATO nations fought eachother. They also use the Turkish government definition of a Terrorist organisation, forcing the US to re prioritize it's NATO commitments and causing the US to abandon it's long Kurdish allies. They also help facilitate and openly encourage anti-american sentiment amongst Turkish citizens. The US has to swallow this shit sandwich because there is no other geographical location NATO can utilize to effectively counter Russian aggression centered around the black sea. I hope that the Romanian government will be able to avoid these pitfalls. And use it's NATO membership responsibly.

  3.  @dragosstanciu9866  I agree but openly expressing hostility towards the alliance organisation that is providing for your defense against a historical aggressor who has invaded occupied and annexed your nation to its own, will not be tolerated indefinitely. The US is trying to expand NATO into Kazakhstan, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Hungary (a permanent base, as Hungary is already a NATO member) and Tajikistan specifically to side step The Turks. This already shows that the continued actions of the Turkish government towards NATO is beginning to see some strain. Again I sincerely hope that the Romanian government will not utilize NATO as a defensive blank check.
