  3. Instead of pouring more money into benefits the gov need to use that money to create more higher paid jobs and training. People shouldn’t be trapped into benefits that they couldn’t hope to match in work.

  10. Yeah well done, I did the same in my 30s bumming about in dead end jobs I went to uni and got a degree in IT infrastructure and a degree in teaching. I’ve earned a fortune and am still working online 25 hours a week for £45000 a year. Sitting in a warm office, no stress and loving it. Gives me great pride knowing I’m helping the next generation of IT professionals.

  11. I feel sorry for that guy with the old dog, I would be devastated if anything happened to my Little dog. I recently found my next door neighbour crying on the door step with her dog next to her, she had to give him away because she couldn’t afford to feed him. I told her I would buy his food and have done ever since. I’m not letting her give him away.

  15. It’s ok saying more money should be given to the unemployed but I see young and middle aged people bumming around and on benefits for years. I know many people my age 60+ who have never worked in their lives. I agree the benefits system should be a hand up not an alternative way of life. Sort out these professional claimers the country would save a fortune.

  16. People in this post don’t realise that we need immigration desperately in this country, if those in their 50s think they are going to get a pension then think again. We and most countries have a problem with young people. Let me end with this, why are the government reducing and pledging to end national insurance, because they know we haven’t got the demographic of young people to satisfy even a basic pension in the future. Be careful what you wish for.

  19. I’m reading a lot of comments about people not saving. My kids always said Dad buy stuff with your money, you can’t take it with you. I didn’t take their advice and managed to save £250000 pounds, guess who I’m seeing regularly for handouts.

  20. We have a web site that is asking people not to pay their energy bills. Why haven’t we got one asking people sign up to the energy companies being brought back into public ownership. If there’s enough people the gov will have to sit up and take notice.

  22.  @charlottetaylor4471 I have posted below. software development is a hard slog, and takes quite a while to get up to speed. I would advise looking around for free IT courses there is a company in Birmingham who does this, it is a great way to get your foot on the ladder.
