It wasn't just recognizing. It was agreeing to never attack physically or financially. Russia doesn't care. It doesn't care because Russia views itself as better than Ukranians. Because it wants to secure Crimea. But it does everything because Russia looks down on others so totally.

@hermanwooster8944 bull. Ukraine is not accusing the US or the UK of interference. Because that was an internal matter. Security guarantees work by the guarantors being expected to help. Ukraine did not ask Russia for help. Because those countries didn't do anything. Russia pushed that war onto Ukraine. Russia has been a threat to every country around them.

@politicallyincorrect1705 Ukraine was following it. Russia and it's proxies weren't. But that was after Russia invaded. And because Russia was making a war on Ukrainian soil in the first place. You can't make a war and call yourself a peace maker. They were fanning it while doing it. And then refused to follow it. That's so nuts.

@popoolatomiwa7836 the budpest stuff had nothing to do with the nonexistent NATO thing. Russia hasn't been patient. Russia has been attacking various neighbors. Russia has been invading Ukraine. None of this is justified. And you really out yourself as Russian and with a brainwashed head that you guys think you can justify attack Ukraine while they've done nothing to do, and you keep hurting them.

@hermanwooster8944 and protests are also part of it. The dude was a theif according to Russians in Russia. And people didn't like him. No one grabbed him and took power. His very presence destabilized the country and he was going to probably step down but instead he left. Just as well. The government stayed in power, no one took over. And they fixed the issue of him leaving.

@hermanwooster8944 it was not. It was a democratic showing of people standing to someone willing to lead their country down the wrong way. People are democracy. People's voice and power. And Ukraine has had elections since then. Showing that their democracy only got stronger. Some leaders are willing to destroy a country's democracy or sell it. Like Belarus. And that's what Russia wanted.

@naszadynastia this is so Looney tunes, it's nonsense. mixed up, nonsense. Monroe doctrine was about keeping Europe away from America. That doesn't even match with Ukraine. Which the US has nothing to do with Ukraine's internal civil development. And that was in like the 1800s.

How Ukraine governs itself is upto Ukraine and it's people. And your last point is based on your personal conspiracy theory. None of which have to do with the budapest memorandum.

@tanusha6145 there wasn't a ban on any language. The law in place was the law since the country started. Removing statues? Really? That's your big issue. You know what's a terror state? Russia. You can't even call it a war. People are scared to comment. That's not a country being invaded, or even technically "at war". Russia is a fascist country. Or a far right, nationalist, and authoritarian one.

Not a singe Eastern European country raised the issue, not even after the Warsaw Pact ceased to exist in 1991. Western leaders didn’t bring it up, either." He might have felt the spirit of some statement was either in retrospect or then, implied that they wouldn't but it's clear that there was no agreement. Especially since in 1990 that Soviet union would not have collapsed.
