  5. No because of the fundamental difference. The sort of ethos of each state. Even Russians know that this China thing isn't based on anything but convenience. And the Chinese too know that they're using Russia. The same way Russia used the Warsaw pact countries. The US needs an ally but it's also based on principles shared. That, and what those principles are, make key differences.
