Never smoked, even when it was legal where I lived. I have anxiety and panic attacks and was told by friends to try it, asked the doc but was warned against it because of my panic disorder most pot would actually trigger worse attacks. Other friends who did smoke to treat anxiety or depression ended up making it far worse. I know some swear by it but I’ve never seen anyone with actual anxiety or depression ever get “help” it just ends up masking it like alcohol.

Yeah. It is substantially more potent today than it was before they started actually testing the strength consistently. People build up tolerance to it quickly.

Hum something regulated and tested to know what’s in it or trusting jimmy down the street to be cool and not try to get you hooked on something new. Yeah….not taking chances.

I lived on the ID and WA border. There was a dispensary about a mile away. We saw cops ALL THE TIME sitting and waiting for people to pull out of the dispensary and drive towards Idaho. It was like a joke at how common people got caught. They just did it for the ticket though. I don’t even think they made them toss it.

I have anxiety and depression and was told never to smoke weed because it can make it substantially worse and basically is “untreated”. I’m fine with my pharmaceutical drugs and won’t mess with them because of the other issues weed has. Like for my pregnancy my meds may make my baby have a slightly irregular heart beat for a couple hours, if I smoked weed instead the baby would be half the size it’s supposed to be.

I think most scientists are hesitant because the studies are mixed so they just say “probably shouldn’t”. They know THC does have some serious health side effects, but for so long they couldn’t do regulated experiments on it so they don’t have the long term studies to prove it. So until they do it’s “better safe than sorry” for most. Personally I’ve heard it really depends on what’s causing depression/anxiety and your own body chemistry. A friend of mine because far more bipolar with weed but believed it helped her (it didn’t). Another has PTSD and it seriously seems to do well (she didn’t have insurance to get medication).
