Some of the larger chains can have reasonably high margins because it’s made in house. Margin is never above 100%, the highest it can be is 100%, since it’s (price-cost)/price.

It also disproportion hurts young families who scraped by to buy a 2 bedroom starter home in 2020 when interest rates were low to now not be able to buy another home for themselves and 2 kids they have.
