I don’t know if the judge was just getting tired at the end of the day or what happened, but snapping at a lawyer for asking an appropriate question when the witness is being combative and not answering is not ok. I’ve never heard a judge tell a lawyer to sit down just out of no where when his line of questioning got to her implicating herself in criminal acts.

  2. Her boy friend admitting to paying for “everything” out of his business account and then hoping the taxes worked out was also brilliant. Also the tears he desperately tried to cry over not getting paid for overtime - salaried workers feel no sympathy sorry.

  3. She was so hostile toward the female lawyer. The male defense attorneys were just as pressing but she treated them with respect. I would have loved to see a black attorney because she likely would have spilled everything.

  5. She bragged about how much cash she keeps on hand but says she gets threats all the time from gangs and MAGA people. She was so out of touch with reality when she could dump 50k and just be “really upset” she lost that money. That would devastate most people. When she was “broke” she said she still kept 1k on her at all times in cash.

The judge said early on that they’re all hostile witnesses and just because Fani said “no I want to be here” right after saying “I can’t believe you’re letting this go forward because it all should have been quashed” is astounding. It was also a lot of statements against interest that can be treated as hostile but they kept saying “she’s not being hostile you can’t lead” was astounding.

  11. The hilarious thing is the judge actually said this. That they’re all lawyers and they should all act professionally, implying it was Roman’s attorney, when really it was Fani who was acting like a young child.

  12. The judge was good for the first half of the day, but then chewed out Roman’s attorney for talking over the witness when Willis was the one making out bursts. He either was not paying attention to the questions being asked (he said it wasn’t specific enough when she asked “in the year 2020 or 2021 did Mr Wade ever come to your place of residence”) or he was not controlling his courtroom (the lawyer asked to approach and Fani said “you may” that’s not her call and very inappropriate for her to say that).

  17. Nathan Wade literally couldn’t remember a trip from 6 months ago and mixed up a 2 hour trip to Tennessee with a 5 hour trip to North Carolina (apparently just for “lunch”).

  19. If Willis and Wade are removed the case will take 10+ months to go to trial still because the new lawyers won’t be up and running. It doesn’t matter if it’s a golden ticket, the tax payers will be pissed so much money was lost on 3 years of prosecution that ended up in corruption and there would be a few million still left to spend. That would also push the case out past election time which means it won’t get taken back up. She is under qualified, as is he, but that question was barred from the proceedings. I guess you haven’t been watching. The judge said any lawyer with a pulse and a bar card is “qualified”. The issue is they’re both implicating themselves in RICO charges showing they didn’t know what it stood for in the first place.

  22. The judge at the end was acting very inappropriately. He told one of the defense attorneys to sit down, cutting him off in the middle of a line of questioning. The question hadn’t been asked before, it was relevant and it heavily implicated her. It was probably the most damning question she was asked and the judge prevented her from answering to save her. He gave no reason, just “sit down you’re done”.

  32. Nathan is screwed. Even if he manages to get away from the tax issues he implicated himself in, he admitted to having several thousand in cash that was never disclosed to his ex wife. Fani was able to explain away paying for things in cash, but cannot prove she ever had that cash, claiming it wouldn’t show up on any receipts. She also misunderstood that it was $100 cumulative in gifts, and admitted she probably had accepted that from many people over the years (so accepting it from him wasn’t anything).

There were several things the male defense attorneys were actually asking that were relevant but the judge just immediately shut it down saying it wasn’t (things that the judge hadn’t ruled on previously). The judge also said they were asking questions she had previously answered, but they had all been questions that were asked - but never actually answered.

  37. My favorite part was when the RICO expert she hired perfectly implicated both of them in a RICO case. If he knew the definition of it he probably would have chosen his words better.

  39. If she is found guilty of corruption (same with Nathan Wade one of the lead prosecutors) they will be removed from the case - best case scenario for the state. There is a chance it gets dropped completely because the state has essentially fucked themselves with now publicized the case is, and how the merits of it first being brought seem to be baseless based in corruption and money laundering. Probably won’t get dropped, but would at the very least be pushed back to past November because they’d need to bring on new lawyers and by that point they wouldn’t care.
