  1. Our town has been building housing left and right. With plans for another 5k homes in just our little part of it (town of about 80k). Traffic is horrible and we can’t support what we have already. Someone asked the city planning committee how much of a new apartment building going into a single bedroom middle class area was going to be for low income, refugee or migrant housing and the council immediately took a vote to approve it ignoring the question entirely. We’re in a lean blue city in a red state, most of it’s blue because of a college.

  4. It’s still better from where they came but mostly because we have had a heavy welfare burden in the past. If they were coming in, culturally adapting and not getting assistance it would be a different story but any large influx of people even if they are contributing can be difficult. Remember JFK struggled because he was Irish 100 years after the migration.

  5. It’s a cheap labor force with no OSHA to enforce unsafe practices. It’s a slave class more than anything else. They need a wealthy nation to still afford the up keep but they’re singleminded thinking of short term gains.
