  1. Tipping in Europe isn’t a flat “don’t tip” it’s a lot more situational it seems. I went to an Italian restaurant in Germany and not only do they not take credit cards (which isn’t posted anywhere) but they also require a 10% tip (also not posted anywhere). Surprisingly everyone I was with despite never having been there before knew the rules.

  2. Tip baristas if they give good service. Their doing more than flipping a burger and their job often takes some level of skill.
