I'm all in favor of decriminalization, it seems like it's the easiest way to save lives in so many different ways (not to mention if it's regulated and taxed it's very profitable for the government). The only issue that I do have is the over use of drugs (such as pot) as antidepressants and anxiety cure-alls. Since pot is widely known as an anti-depressant, people are more likely to seek out pot rather than actual anti-depressants, the issues is that it isn't a cure-all and the dispensary workers don't have the knowledge or training to tell if someone is actually depressed/suicidal/manic/bipolar all of which have radically different reactions on weed. When I lived in Washington I had a doctor warn me about going to a dispensary while on certain drugs since the reaction of certain strains with my medication could be mania or suicidal tendencies. Since there hasn't been much education for the public on this, I had a couple of friends who went undiagnosed as bi-polar while the weed was only helping for their depressed episodes it heightened their manic making doctors think they were things like schizophrenic and those drugs did a lot more damage than the bipolar med's alone would have. As long as dispensary workers (I don't care what they're dispensing pot is just the only one that's around now) are trained with the same level as pharmacists, I don't think it's an issue, but I am worried we would just end up in another opioid problem because doctors prescribe drugs that they shouldn't be because there hasn't been the education.
