  2. Women - keep keys in your hand at all times. Weigh down your purse with change. It doesn’t matter how big the dude is, a 15 lb weight being swung at his head when he asks for your purse or a key to the eyes, nose, ears, kidneys will get you a long ways.

  4. We had a shooting in our building. A high end apartment in Milwaukee. Tell ya nothing teaches you that lesson more than a cop knocking down your door at 11 asking for a witness statement.

  5. A friend of mine is a 30 something year old black body builder, 300lbs of muscle from Nigeria and the only disarming thing about him is he wears glasses. I went to a concert with him in downtown St. Paul and when we passed people who looked sketchy I was so happy he was on my side. He on the other hand is terrified of everyone because he’s scared of African Americans and told me to protect him lol.

  6. My parents move downtown at Paul in 2010. Both worked there, mom had for 30 years. They lived on Meers park and the lightrail changed a lot for them. My dad had to take the lightrail to work, eventually he saw too many fights (including one guy in a MAGA had getting beaten close to death and it didn’t even get reported). Mom tried to give sandwiches to the homeless and help them get social security and housing but they just wanted money for drugs, some were honest some not. It got to the point in 2020 that my dad couldn’t walk their dog after dark because he’d be harassed by people in the park because he’s white. Their dog is a rescue and they were scared he’d bite someone for threatening my dad. So they moved several states away. I’m so happy they did. They’re conservative, but it just comes with Minnesotans being “Minnesota nice”.
