Highest tax paid under Ike was 42% after deductions.....Reagan cut that in 1980 from 42% to 36%.

@almitrahopkins1873 Why to offshore them? In the 50's employers were not mandated to pay health insurance . Thats a big chunk of money .

@almitrahopkins1873 Well I asked my grandfather what was the best time to live. He said the 50's WWII was over it was a single income family and things were cheap. By the 60's women started to work , incomes went up and well things became more expensive.

Tessmage Tessera Actually Reagan did a lot of infrastructure work, fiber optics ( telephone), electrical plants , road construction. I remember it well because the middle class boomed under Reagan from 1980-1988.

@almitrahopkins1873 Well when it comes to taxes business doesn't pay it. The burden is shifted to the consumer because to offset the tax hikes the company raises the price of the goods...always have.

I have no problem paying a flat tax . 10% to the Feds and 5% to the state, you get nothing back , you owe nothing either. A lot of people like this , more money I have more I will invest, spend etc. Business pays the same and nobody complains.
