  1. The law also takes into account "great bodily harm." So if you perceive that you're either going to die or receive great bodily harm, then you can respond by shooting the person. Imperfect self-defense makes sense here

  2. @ActualJusticeWarrior True. But that is most likely what the defense attorneys will argue in court. I do think he was excessive in his use of force. But if it's one continuous shot after the other until the mag is empty, with no pauses in between, then it could be considered imperfect self-defense. He'll need good attorneys to defend him in court.
