Forgiveness doesn't just mean you let the person go. You still send them to prison. But what does it serve you to hate someone who is paying for their crimes? That's why you forgive. It serves no benefit to continue to hate someone after they've been caught for their crimes/sin. Forgiveness has nothing to do with being soft on crime.

6:08 The thing that sets Christians apart from non-religious people is that we hate the sin, not the sinner, because we are all sinners. In your mind, murder may be far worse than theft. But God treats them equally because all sins are bad. All people have the capacity to be tempted by sin. That's just human nature. We are living in a fallen state of being. That's why we hate the sin. Never hate the sinner. We are all capable of terrible things. But it's the terrible thing we should hate.

@Aki-kh2qe-StreetKidZZZ I obviously understand that. Forgiving people has nothing to do with forgiving their sin. The sin is separate from the person. Just because you forgive a person, that doesn't mean you don't hold them accountable for their actions. It would be retarded to even suggest that's what Christians believe

But if you're asking me if Christians believe they are better than non-believers, that's the farthest thing from the truth. Christians are sinners just as non-believers. Everyone is equal in the eyes of God.
