As a Hoosier (pronounced Who-sure) I find this to be reprehensible. The whole point of Indiana getting rid of the concealed carry permit was to make it easier for people, especially businesses, to defend themselves against criminals. Hammond is one of the only blue counties in Indiana because its so close to Chicago. This problem doesn't exist outside of blue counties

@maxheadman59 that's correct. We passed Constitutional Carry, and it took effect July 1st, 2022. Personally, I think that should be the law in every state. But I also believe that it should be mandatory to own a firearm. I think we should teach firearm responsibility, respect, and some training in specialized high school classes. You could start in elementary school with Nerf guns. Middle school would change to paintball and bb guns. Then, high school would be small caliber rifles and hand guns. Upon graduation, you'd be given your choice of small caliber rifle or handgun, along with your diploma. My philosophy is to make guns easier to access and own. While enacting very harsh penalties for using that gun outside of a self-defense scenario.

@hgrimes9824 which part of Indiana? Most of this place is small country towns with a handful of small cities. It's mainly the cities where people used to get in serious trouble for stupid stuff like a quarter bag of weed. But they don't care about that anymore. Weed has been decriminalizatized, and we have wag worse drugs getting into people hands. That's what they're worried about the most.

3:41 gas pumps are still available to use even if the convenience store is closed. But there are people who work late and get their fountain drinks and cigarettes and stuff like that before and after work. So this law is absolutely retarded.
