@joansparky4439 Cuneiform was most commonly used for writing up receipts for goods purchased, like grains and livestock, or, at least that is what has been primarily found. Some of the earliest found cuneiform was of love poems that a woman (sorry, I can’t remember her name) wrote to her lover.

@billw5189 I agree, but, unfortunately, I can’t go into a bank and ask them nicely, using my language, to give me a few thousand dollars cash without some form of trading unit.

This is why they fought so hard against Bernie. He wanted to knock the mega-wealthy and the corporations down a bit to give more wealth and power to The People. Of course, they weren’t going to allow that to happen, so they dubbed him a “Socialist”, making sure people didn’t understand that Democratic Socialism is different than pure Socialism, and that a number of countries in Europe currently use this system, particularly in the Scandinavian countries, and it’s working very well for them, especially The People. I often think of how much better off we, as a country, would be now if he had been elected. He would have been like another FDR in many ways. We might even have avoided trump that way. If only.
