  1. Yeah, we don’t even have the Equal Rights Amendment in the Constitution yet, but then it was ONLY first put before Congress ONE HUNDRED years ago! And presented to every single Congressional session (season) since then. Which means that the ONLY right women have per the Constitution is the right to vote. Yup, that’s it. And the ERA is really basic and simple as it says “Equality of rights under the law shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any state on account of sex.” That’s it. Not so hard, is it? But, apparently, it’s a bridge too far for many Congressmen, and, unfortunately, some congresswomen as well. Some states have an Equal Rights Amendment in their state constitutions, but not nearly all of them, and they’re all a mishmash of rights, and different from each other.

  2.  @Mulberrysmile  Yup, good ol’ Phyllis Schlafly, the beyotch who killed it. And now they won’t pass it because that would mean women would have the right to abortion, and it’s all about abortion these days. Roe v. Wade could not have been overturned if we had the ERA.
