  1. 74 here, and I remember growing up seeing newsreels about WWII including some of Hitler’s speeches, as well as scenes from the concentration camps, and I remember so many of us were asking “How did the Germans allow that to happen?” And, here we are, just one or two generations later and we’re seeing it happen right in our own country. This is not what our fathers fought and died for. And this is definitely not what we were taught that democracy means. It’s terribly sad, as well as frightening.

  3.  @thelakeman5207 Yes, we can always hope. Or his dementia will soon become so evident that even his MAGA followers can’t deny it (well, some always will, but any who have lived with a parent or relative with it won’t be able to).

  6.  @SierraM973  What’s so scary is that so many of them are in Congress and in nearly every elected office in the country. We’re going to have to weed them ALL out (Vote!). Learn about Project 2025 (there are a number of YouTube videos about it. I especially like the ones by Leeja Miller and Thom Hartmann. It should wake you up and scare the socks off you at the same time. You can also download it on Google, but be warned, it’s about 900 pages long, which gives you an idea how deep and wide their plan goes, and they’re ready to implement it as soon as trump gets back into office, so we can’t EVER allow that to happen.
