Which is why they have never added the Equal Rights Amendment to the Constitution (even though 38 states have ratified it - thanks, Mitt Romney). Mainly, they knew that if they added the ERA they couldn’t have overturned Roe v. Wade. And if they could do that, what other meager rights we have could they take away? Voting? I have even heard that one or two members of Congress have expressed the idea of taking women’s right to vote away. I always say that we saw The Handmaid’s Tale as a warning; Republicans saw it as a blueprint.
