  1. Actually, Victoria Woodhull was the first woman to actively seek the office of President in the U.S., in the 1800s, and she chose Frederick Douglas to be her running mate. Of course, she was forced out of the race pretty quickly. America wasn’t ready then, but it IS ready now!
