  1. When we have a viable power source. I mean sure, an electric car battery can provide enough power for one, at least for a while. But it's too big (not to mention a gigantic weakspot) to be a feasible power source for it. We need to invent super batteries before we get power armors. But power armors will definitely be a thing. Due to costs however it will no doubt see limited use, but it will be about as feared as a tank.

  2. Right now it's just an extremely expensive pair of pants. Sure it enhances strength, but only minimally, it increases carry weight or run speed, all useful for sure, but not useful enough to be worth the asking price, at least not yet.
